Clay Hardness Tester
The “Payne” Clay Hardness Tester (or Pigsticker) is designed to give an arbitrary value of hardness of clay pugs or pressed clay. Designed for quick and easy use, providing repeatable results on factory floors, no laboratory required. Available as two different models, the standard model is used for tableware and general clays. Fitted with a “regular spring” this is the unit that has been supplied for many years. The new CHT005 has been especially developed for use in the heavy clay industries (eg. insulators).
